In the wrong place at the wrong time

You nearly drop your book. Did he just? Did he really say that? Or were you imagining things? Ok deep breaths deep breaths. You bookmarked your page and went to the kitchen and started cooking whatever looked good. Ok pasta for breakfast it was. You never really ate certain food for certain meals, you just made whatever appealed to you. You stirred the pasta as it boiled, convincing yourself that you had imagined him saying that. By the time the pasta is done and you've added alfredo sauce, you are much, much calmer.

You wake up to delicious smells. Your head is a lot clearer and you have stopped seeing things. You let go of the pillow you had been holding and sit up stretching and popping your back a bit as you yawned. Damn, you don't want any raw sopor, but you could go for a normal drink. You think about all the soporific you have in your cabinet back home. Oh well... You suppose you could go on a bit of a binge after you figure out what was going on. Reading and drinking went quite well together.

Morning again Princess.

You drawl as you walk into the kitchen, you scratch at the base of your horns.

What ya cooking there?

You've eaten plenty of different foods, but not everything. You are not quite sure what the white sauce is supposed to be on the pasta.

You smile at him, "How do you feel? You look better." You were rather relieved, perhaps now he would be completely recovered from his fever. Or so you had hoped. "I'm making pasta with alfredo sauce, its a cheesy sauce with milk in it." You turn the heat off and open the cabinets, stretching to your tiptoes to get the bowls from the shelf. You put an even amount of pasta into both of them, then put them on the table beside the cutlery you'd already laid out. You pour yourself another cup of coffee (was that three or four now?) before sitting.

Well I stopped seeing things.

You chuckle a bit. It looked good, but at the moment you don't think eating is a very good idea.

I think I'll skip on the meal for now... Sopor and food don't always mix well.

You sit down at the table anyways. You cover your face some with your hand, the smell was a bit bothersome but you'd get over it. At least with raw sopor there wasn't any hangover after you sleep it off.

Have you gone threw the journal I gave you? It's no big if you haven't... I think that one might be one of his more rambling ones.

You pick up his bowl and stick it in the microwave. "You should eat something, so when you feel up to it I'll heat it up for you." You really needed to stop fussing over him. Maybe once he was feeling better. You sat back down and started eating, twirling the pasta around your fork. You blushed slightly before you answered him. "Oh, I didn't realize you wanted me to read it!" Additionally, you were at a really good part in your book... and you wanted to know what happened. You read way too much.

It's cool... You still have it?

You sit back in your chair and watch her eat. You want to tell her that she didn't need to fuss over you so much, but you don't think that she would stop even if you did.

You crack your as you sit there. By gloyb you're stiff. You don't really like feeling so stiff, after all your job required you to keep moving and a heck of a lot of thinking on your feet. You want to go outside and do your exercises in the moonlight again... But she would probably freak out. It was probably a bad idea. But holy hell you are starting to feel hyper as fuck. So instead you just bounce your knee as you  talk to her.

You finish your mouthful of food before replying. "Yeah, its still on the coffee table." You didn't have the same problem as Aarush, after all swimming all day was hard work and you were quite used to sitting at a desk all day doing your work. However your mostly sedentary work caused you to move around a lot during your sleep.

Without really realizing what you were doing, you reach out with your free hand and set it on Aarush's knee. "You're jogging the table."

You turn to look at the table, it was there. You would jump up and grab the journal. You pick it up and stop flipping threw it, trying to figure out witch volume it was. Odd, you do not remember reading this one. The dates were... rather recent.

Did I bring my journal with me? Ahh...fuck.

You stick it back in your 'dex.

I guess it's a good thing you didn't read it, haha.

You sit back at the table, this time making a point not to bounce your knee, tho you feel hyper still.

Would you be overly freaked out if I went out side for a bit? I mean I don't want to worry you... but if I stay still right now I think I'm going to lose it...

You're about half way finished with your food. You smile at Aarush, finding his hyperness rather amusing. "I'm not your lusus, you are a big troll who can make his own choices," you tease. "Just try not to over-exert yourself, okay? And be careful with your shoulder-" You stop yourself, "Sorry, I should listen to myself sometimes." You hoped you weren't annoying him with your worrying. You eat a few more bites before talking again, "I'll probably go sit on the beach and read after I finish eating."

Alright... I'll be just outside.

You walk quickly out side and good bit down the beach. Maybe all this sitting around has gone a bit to your head. Yes you like to nap on a couch, but the last few days had you sleeping way too much. You walk in the sand as you think. There was something about that city that interested you, tho it was quite obvious something did not want you to go there. You rotated your arm, feeling your once dislocated shoulder. It wasn't as sore as it used to be, but there was still twinges. You should head to your hive, if even just a change of clothes. There were so many things on your mind you didn't know what to do. So you sat down on the beach and watched the waves.

Once you've eaten, tidied up, and fed Phobee, you grab your book and wander outside. It was a little cloudy today, but that didn't bother you. You didn't see Aarush, but what trouble could he get into on such a small island. You sat yourself down, reading happily, lying down after a few pages, then rolling onto your stomach, then back to your back as you tried to get comfortable. Eventually, lying on your back seemed to be the post comfortable spot, seeing as you accidentally fall asleep in the sand, your thumb marking what page you are on. The sound of waves put you to sleep so easily. Phobee had followed you out and had preened herself before curling up on your stomach as you slept.

You get up after a bit and walk back up the beach towards the house. You feel more relaxed then you had. When you spy Eisire, you give a shout to get her attention.

Yo! Eisire!

You jog up to her and sit next to her, possibly disturbing Phobee as you bump Eis a bit.

Are you coming back with me to my hive? I mean... I don't intend to stay for long... Just grabbing the books and a couple of changes of clothes and then coming back. I want to get a closer look at that city.

You don't know what is it with your sudden fascination with the city. Something about it just pulled you towards it. Something at the back of your brain itched when you thought about it. Maybe it was a memory? Or one of the spirit's memories? There was something important there, you knew that much.

Phobee hissed at Aarush, flapping her wings a few times before scurrying back to the house. You sit, tucking your bookmark back into your book before responding. "Sure, I'll come with you to your hive... but..." You glance away, rubbing your neck. "Um... I... I dunno if I can cross the trench again." You could hear Erisie snickering in the back of your mind. Had you told him about what happened at the trench? You told him that you had a split personality, but not about your mental block with that crack in the sea.

"Maybe while you check it out I'll stay in my hive and do some work or something?" You traced patterns in the sand with your index finger, hair hanging in your face to hide your shame that you couldn't cross that stupid fucking trench.

You tilt your head lessening as she talks.

What is the matter with the trench?

She looked worried when she talked about it.

Is it that dangerous?

Had you done something unimaginably stupid yesterday? Well, you had done a number of externally stupid things the day before, and the day before that. It's like stupidity and you just get along so well. You needed to stop just doing things and think about them a little bit before hand. You knew that, but the likely hood of that actually happening was very slim.

You pulled your knees to your chest, concentrating on burying your webbed toes in the sand. "Well, um, no it isn't dangerous..." You felt a tightness in your chest as your nerves grew. You chewed on your lip for a minute, trying to come up with words to say. "Y-yesterday was the first time I've crossed the trench... ever. When I was barely a sweep old, I got sucked down there along with a few ships during a maelstrom. Once everything had stopped moving, I turned on my flashlight and there were dead bodies all around me. And I don't remember what happened next, only that I woke up lying next to the trench..." The colour had drained from your face and you rubbed your arm, the one that you had broken in the accident and bruised several nights ago.

Ah I see...

You hug her tightly with one arm. Everyone had things that they were afraid of and she had one hell of a reason to be afraid of the trench. You think you would want to avoid the heck out of that scar in the ocean too if you had been trapped in a situation like that. Now that you think about it, you were being a bit stupid for wanting to go back to the city after all that had happened. But your curiosity was pulling you a bit harder then you could resist it.

You could wait here then... Or we could take my jet bike and go over the waves. No risk of being sucked in, and It's not storm season is it? Not that it would matter much with t he Beast. I've flown threw a tornado with that thing.

You smile at her as you gently kiss her on the cheek. You don't want her to be afraid.

You lean into him, your head resting on his shoulder. "Its not that really... Its.. Its a mental thing. I just can't bring myself to get over it. I'm honestly surprised I didn't have a mental breakdown the second I crossed it." You blushed a little when you said that, glancing away. "Honestly, I think getting over and back across that thing is enough for one life time. One of my lifetimes that is." If you remembered correctly, the highest blooded landwellers would live for about 700 sweeps, whereas your cast would be alive ten times that length.

You purr a little when he plants a kiss on your cheek. "I'll be fine waiting here while you check it out. You'll have to tell me what you find! Maybe I can dig out my waterproof camera before you go."

You kiss the top of her head gently ah jeez you are starting to feel bad for asking, but then again how were you to know. You were grateful for her saving you. A slight grimace went across your face when you realize just how big crossing the trench was for her.

I'm glad you did... I would be drowned if you had not...

You hug her tightly again, you liked having someone to hug in a different way then your morail. Oh shit! Ducita! You let Eisire go and then get up quickly.

Shit! I nearly forgot about Ducita... some fucking morail I am. It's been what? A few days? Weeks? Shit! She's gonna be pissed.

You start pulling on a shirt and grabbing your mask.

You are coming right?

Oh Ducita is going to tare you a new one. She was a little terror with her staff your morail. Good at keeping you in line, your second lusus... not that you'd ever call her that to her face.

Your purr kicks up a notch as he holds you, cutting off short when he suddenly lets go of you and stands. "Its been half a week, and I'm sure once you explain yourself she will understand." You stand, brushing the sand off of you and putting your book into your sylladex. You blink a few times when he addresses you, blushing a little. "Um, well, yes if um you want me to... I mean I want to come I j-just don't want to be a bother or annoy you." Your blush deepens as you ramble. You pull on your thick braid nervously, toying with the end of it.

Nope not at all, you saved my ass and let me be here... and well... errr... Not...err hate me after I... ummm....Well things could have gone a lot worse and I'm glad they didn't? And all and things...errr...

Shut up now Aarush. You kiss her on the cheek again to save you anymore babbling.

No... you would never be a bother. Never to me.

You pick her up with a smile.

So... where did you park my bike?

Before you can say anything or de-fluster yourself, he plants a kiss on your cheek. And before you can respond your feet are no longer on the ground. You squeak, clinging to him. It was one thing when you flew, and that was miles upon miles in the air but you were strapped into the seat. You didn't have any control here and it made you a bit uneasy. You shut your eyes, your hands balling into fists around his shirt.

"It's in the boat dock! Put me down!"

You are very light...

That was the only comment you would say before kissing her in between the horns again and setting her on your bike. You hand her the helmet and place your mask over your face. Oh you hoped Ducita wasn't freaking out, or really waiting at your hive. You had no clue how you were going to explain it to her.

You keep Eisire in front of you as you climb onto the bike, it was easier for smaller trolls to hold on here, since there would be a place to rest their feet and more places to hold on to. You run your thumb over the ignition and the engine would roar into life.

Hang on tightly Princess... I'm going to be taking it a bit faster then I usually do...

Usually do with other people on board that is. You don't really wait for her to acknowledge it you guide the jetbike away from the docks and then kick it up as high as it would go and take off like dragon on speed.
